Ch. 6 Falsely reports City purchasing Castaway Cove

The city of Wichita Falls is the new owner of Castaway Cove. Councilors voted six to one this morning, approving the purchase.

District three councilor Rick Hatcher was the only official to vote against the proposal. The city will buy Castaway Cove for $3.9 million and assume the water park's $4 million debt.

We'll have more on this story in our evening newscast.

This story is not true at all. The city agreed to make an offer to the Castaway cove people. Then they would have to accept the offer. This story is far from over. I would blame the Ch. 6 reporter who was there and the people at the station for not catching this sooner. It's not like this is the first time the story had been covered.

I also heard KAUZ report this story wrong. Are you sure Channel 6 had a reporter at the meeting this morning? Mr. Green

If they did, then they should sign up for reporting courses at MSU. Maybe Mass Com 101?

Yes, musicmania, while what you say is true, that only an offer has been made, you would have to be pretty naive to believe that this is not already a done deal...They just want to preserve the illusion that the citizens of WF had a say in this or will benefit from it in any way... I guess bailouts are only bad if black, democratic presidents make them...

How about this, I didn't like the first Chrysler bailout in 1979 under the Carter administration. I guess that means I'm prejudiced against big teethed peanut farmers.

When it comes to bailouts, the only color I give a tinkers dang about is green. That's the color taxplayers bleed.

Well, WFGuy, I AM prejudiced against big toothed peanut farmers. And also against this growing trend toward the government buying out private businesses to save jobs or whatever. in the case of General Motors, I can maybe see it, but a waterpark?
