I just heard that one the news. What in the heck is happening? I hope we don't have a series of these again.

When I was a policeman, I found that every year, around this time of year, these things happen more regularly than any other time of year.

Usually because folks have "Had it" with their bosses, their spouse, their friends, coworkers and so on. We always had civil disturbances, family violence, shootings, threats with guns and it goes on & on.

Why? usually because of money or lack of money, Drinking, Stress, Family get togethers during the hollidays, no or little Christmas bonuses this year, loosing jobs and problems all year and this is the end of the year are usually contributors of these and similar scenarios.

Yes, these things go on all year but the Hollidays from Halloween till after the first of the year are the worst time of the year.

Sad but true.

Believe it or not, we had an incident today at the day care center/food pantry where I work with a guy who came in wearing full military camouflage and a big hunting knife. He refused to take the knife off in front of the kids and got belligerent. We had to call the police, who came quickly (day care center, man with big knife, etc.) He's been ordered never to return, but I keep an anxious eye on the door.
