I was looking at a database of dealers that Chrysler is closing. Other than Abilene, I didn't notice any closings scheduled in the larger West Texas cities, including Wichita Falls. They are closing over 30 dealers statewide, mainly in small towns and DFW suburbs.

GM is announding 1000 closings today--wonder if any will be in Wichita Falls?

DODGE trucks are a pretty big seller in Texas. Patterson owns the dealership here and he trys to be a pretty reputable dealer.

Seems that GM isn't going to publicly announce which dealers will be closed, just sending them letters. And, there's supposed to be another round of cuts after next year..

I think most of the GM dealerships that are closing are ones that were struggling, having low sales, etc... I was hoping they would close Sleazy here, just to see my neighbor have to squirm a little but I have a feeling he would probably land on his feet and not miss a beat.

Cordes is losing Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep in Lawton.

I really never had any worries for Patterson Dodge, but I did wonder if they might cut Four Stars. Luckily they didn't.

As far as I know all of our area GM dealers have survived too. Ruble-Vance, Lipscomb, Herb Easley, Patterson and Four Stars are still good to go.
