I just saw the Stone Creek Ranch apartments online. They look beautiful. Has anyone been by there?
It may be an indication of the appeal of the Wichita Falls economy that the company that manages them is based in Houston. They are that company's only apartment complex outside of Houston. |

Are they finished yet?
The last time I went that way, the parking lot was still mud, lots of not finshed. |

Have you seen the price of those apartments $250k !!!. They seem a bit on the pricey side for what they are. |

Where do you see the prices? I didn't think they were for sale. I thought that they were rentals only.
I think some of them are finished and leased. I personally do not know of anyone who lives there.
Here's a twist.....I was watching the City Council meeting when Seabury was getting approval to build these. Our councilman asked him several times before he finally admitted that these could possibly be "Section 8"!!! That's right...Section 8! The neighborhood was in an uproar but it was too late. The way they got approval was to send 10 homeowners that backed up to the apts. letters and then they posted 3 8 x 10 signs on the street back there. The print was so small on the signs you couldn't read what it said. That road back there is so narrow that you better pay attention to the road/cars not a little piece of paper stuck on a stick.
I will admit they do look really nice but once they go Section 8 they will look just like Professional Drive!!! |

Cookie, that price mentioned is for a home adjacent to the apartments. Seabury has been building homes on South Shepard for around 10 years now.
I think the apartments are only for rent. |

I drove by there today and all the signs say Now Leasing. There were numerous cars in the parking lot so I guess they are leasing at least some of the units. |

Guess I don't know my trail from my Creek. Sorry. I'm bad, just don't know the geography. |

Don't feel bad, Cookie, I grew up less than a half-mile from there and all those roads and developments are new to me--even since my last visit in 2003. |

It also stops me commenting on a great number of threads on this board as I have no idea where x number of new restaurants are (or what they are like) - as just one example. You must have the same problem if you have not been to WF since 2003. |

Yeah, when I was growing up in WF between 1955 and 1973, not much changed. That whole time, there was one main shopping center (Parker Square), one main local chain of restaurants (Pioneer), three TV stations (no cable), two FM radio stations and three AM, etc. Gettiing our first national big-box retailer (K-Mart) around 1970 was a big deal. Now since 1990, it's a whole different town. |
